I just visited papadeli to get some really good British cheese. The woman who helped me, Messi, was amazing! Not only did she find me some extraordinary cheeses, she gave me lovely background stories on each one. I really enjoyed sitting down, tasting the cheese and having a bit of a chat about them all! It was so interesting and just wonderful customer service.
Thanks so much Messi and the Papadeli gang I’m sure I’ll be back soon for more!
Our delicatessen was established in 2002, and fifteen years later, we are still brimming with the most wonderful selection of fine foods from Spain, Italy, Portugal, along with produce from closer to home, too. Come see and taste the best cheese counter in Bristol! It’s abundant with a variety of cheeses from Gruyere to Gorgonzola, Roquefort to Rachel, Comte to Cornish Yarg, as well as a range of fabulous British cheeses selected by Jo, our manager and previously cheesemonger at the world-famous Neals Yard Dairy of London. She certainly knows her stuff and makes sure her deli team do, too!
Pair your cheese purchases with excellent off-the-beaten-track wines from Jules Lewis of Bybo, fresh bread delivered daily, a range of artisan crackers, chutneys, charcuterie, membrillo or mostarda…
Our selection of extra virgin olive oils, vinegars, antipasti, preserves, pastas and store cupboard staples is fantastic. Just ask a member of staff for recommendations – they love chatting about food!
For a special treat or gift, we have the best handmade chocolates, fine biscuits, and the most stunning cakes lovingly baked in house every day by our talented pastry chef.
We also have a range of beautifully hand made ceramics and wooden gifts such as chopping boards, bowls and serving platters that are ideal for the most discerning foodie!
Sit in our deli cafe and enjoy a tea or coffee and a slice of cake or choose lunch from our range of superb tarts, pies, salads and sandwiches, all made in our kitchen upstairs.
Our cafe menu is put together with ingredients that we sell here in the deli. So if you like what you’re eating – that cheese, the dressing on your salad, the olive oil you’re dipping your bread in – you can buy some to take home.
