Our Bristol cookery school has a great reputation for fun, informative classes, taught by professional chefs (see timetable below). They sell out quickly, so please book soon!

Hands on, informative, informal.

A number of starters, mains and puddings are created using the finest ingredients. Once demonstrated, you get to put your learning to use and recreate what you’ve learnt.  Then you get to eat it! There is usually a Papadeli goody bag of what you’ve made to take home too.

 Our cookery school is on Alma Road, Clifton, in a sunny and light top floor kitchen.  Use all those wonderful deli ingredients to produces flavoursome, imaginative dishes.

Evening classes run 6-9pm

Cookery class timetable Spring / Summer 2019

All classes are £95 including all tuition and ingredients and wine/soft drink.

A wonderful selection of classes to bring you some classics as well as new dishes using the finest ingredients. Taught by highly accomplished chef (she is one of the best in Bristol), Alexis John, who teaches with humour and warmth.  She makes everyone feel comfortable, no matter what their level. The next big food trend: travels in Eastern Europe

You may have heard about The Black Sea Cookbook by Caroline Eden on Radio 4’s Food Programme and discussion about books.  Her journeys from Odessa to Ukraine through Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey highlight and celebrate culinary cultures that have until now been largely undiscovered.  Alexis, your teacher, has chosen some favourites to open the lid on an extraordinary world of delicious flavours – get ahead of the curve and come and learn more!

Feb 6th 

Italy is famous for being the home of the slow food movement.  Taking time over simple dishes and enjoying them is at the heart of all Italian cuisine and this class is a must if you’d like to bring a little of this ethos into your own home.  It’s a treat of a class and fills up quickly!

A taste of Sicily

Feb 20th- 6-9pm

The flavours, the warmth, the variety – spend the evening exploring the food of Sicily.  These are all dishes that you can recreate at home for a simple supper of full on ‘impress your friends’ night.  Just lovely!

Take a look at what you will make – how delicious does it all sound! Such a rich variety of ingredients and flavours, you will love learning how to make these dishes and they’ll be ones you can make over and over at home and never tire.

Persian Nowruz Feast

March 20th 6-9pm

All the Persian food I’ve tasted by Alexis, our chef, is simply the best I’ve tasted.  She is passionate about this type of food and does it beautifully. This sort of food has been made popular by Ottolenghi and we all love it, don’t we! This class will show you how to make some wonderful dishes that you can replicate at home and wow your friends and family 🙂

Asian inspired EATS

April 3rd 6-9pm

Alexis, our chef and teacher is brilliant at all that she makes, but her Asian inspired food is a firm favourite. Who wouldn’t love to know how to make some of these delicious dishes? They’re SO good!

Sweet Secrets of Baking

Charity, our baker and pastry chef has gained an incredible reputation in Bristol and beyond for her superb cakes and bakes.  Supremely professional, she creates works of art.  In this baking class, she will lift the lid on some of the secrets behind getting that professional look with ease.

April 24th

Ah, such an uplifting class.  A real taste of all that is best of a British springtime. I have to say my mouth is watering as I read this as the menu looks fabulous.  I might actually come to it myself!

Come and find La Dolce Vita in this lovely Italian cookery class.  You’ll learn to make some delicious Roman specialities that you can repeat at home, time and time again.

Le Grand Aioli – A Provencal feast

This is a feast of a class. Transport yourself to the warm climes of Provence and all the best produce. This is a brilliant class to learn skills for making a fabulous Summer supper for friends and relatives. It is abundant in every way.
